March 21 7:30 Social Action Committee
March 24 7:30 The Aguda - Tragedy and Recovery
Mike Hamel and Chen Langer of Aguda will speak the issues facing LGBT people in Israel, as well as to share Aguda’s story. Mike is the president of Aguda and Chen Langer is a counselor and one of the young people injured in the August, 2009 attack in Tel Aviv. Chen was one of the featured speakers at the rally in Tel Aviv after the attack (see also the YouTube Video from the rally.) Please join us for what is sure to be an important learning experience. Co-sponsored by the New Israel Fund of Canada.
Sun, March 28 noon - 3: Matzah Bake, Dufferin Grove Park
Bake Matzot in a wood burning outdoor oven. Bring a timer: see if you can mix flour and water, kneed and roll the dough, and bake your Matzot all within 18 minutes! Then snack on the fruits of your labour. Everyone is welcome; bring the kids. All materials provided (other than timers). Please note: Since the bake cannot be properly kosher for Passover, we will be using local, organic flour, not kosher for Passover flour. You may therefore not want to use matzah from the bake during Passover.
